What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a system formed by living organisms and non-living factors of the environment. These plants and animals that live in this ecosystem depend on each other for survival. If one biotic or abiotic factor were to become extinct it would disrupt the whole ecosystem, all the food chains and organisms dependent on them. A sustainable ecosystem is when all the elements that contain in this ecosystem are healthy and able to be reproduced as much as they are consumed or decompose.
Within the world we have biomes which make up our world. Biomes are general ecosystems, including the many different complicated ecosystems up into simple categories. Different biomes are:
Forests- tropical Rainforests, temperate forest, chaparral, and taiga forests.
Tundras- Cold, below surface is permanent ice layer
Grasslands- Savanna, temperate grassland Aquatic- Marine (Oceans, coral reefs and estuaries) or freshwater (Freshwater lakes, rivers and wetlands) Desert- Ice or Heat desert
