What is the carbon cycle?
First of carbon is an element that cannot be broken down into a smaller substance, destroyed or produced. Though carbon can be formed into a solid, liquid or gas. E.g. Carbon dioxide, crude oil, diamonds and coal.
Carbon is released into an ecosystem through plant resperation, animal resperation, human resperation and factory emissions.
The Carbon is absorbed by plants during photosynthesis, spreading all throughout its roots and leaves, then releases oxygen. Animals eat the plants, breathe the oxygen the plant provides and release a gas called carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Extremely old decomposed animals and plants become fossil fuels, which are burnt to create resources and releases Carbon oxides in the process.
Carbon dioxide is also exchanged between the air and sea.
Sea shells are formed by carbonates contained in the sea.
