What is Photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is a chemical process plants use to produce energy and food for themselves. Photosynthesis requires sunlight and chlorophyll to absorb carbon dioxide and water, then to release oxygen and glucose.

                                         Sunlight

carbon Dioxide + water                     glucose + oxygen

                                       Chlorophyll

Glucose is vital for plants, it is used to make all the materials a plant needs, e.g. protiens and vitamins.
